  Though I'm not American, I understand that America has a huge influence in geopolitics, especially of Europe. And like many I've criticized a lot of their policies, including some during the Obama administration. This book helped clear a few things up and showed just hard it is to be a politician, Especially working with the Republicans - GOP (in line with most of media reports and Republican beliefs such as banning abortion). Mitch McConnell reportedly said, when being asked about why he's blocking a policy "You're under the mistaken impression that I care". Of course it still leaves a lot unanswered, such as the increased number of drone operations over Pakistan during the Obama years, or why Edward Snowden was prosecuted for showing the world that NSA was breaking US and possibly international law in was spying on everyone. He should be awarded for his honesty and bravery, not punished. P.S: Yes US has made a ton of mistakes, but it's still better to have a system which we can constructively criticize and improve it as a result. Rather than a strong man rule.
