À l'occasion des 10 ans de la sortie de l'ultime chef-d'oeuvre de Gil Scott-Heron, "I'm New Here", XL Recordings annonce aujourd'hui la sortie le 7 février prochain de "We're New Again", une ré-invention orchestrée par le batteur jazz et producteur acclamé, Makaya McCraven. Sur "We're New Again" enregistré et produit en grande partie dans son home studio de Chicago, avec un petit groupe de musiciens triés sur le volet, McCraven fusionne son jazz au ton improvisé, électronique et gorgé de samples, avec les mots et la voix puissante de Gil Scott-Heron, donnant naissance à un disque musicalement riche, original et respectueux de son colossal modèle.
