Une belle réussite doublée d'un énorme succès commercial pour le label Blue Note. Trompettiste virtuose très spectaculaire, au jeu énergique et très contrasté, Lee Morgan a déjà roulé sa bosse avec les plus grands (Horace Silver, Dizzy Gillespie puis les Jazz Messengers à partir de 1958) lorsqu'il enregistre avec Joe Henderson et Barry Harris ce qui reste aujourd'hui comme son meilleur disque, ce spectaculaire et étincelant "Sidewinder". Notre homme ne profitera malheureusement pas longtemps de sa popularité et tombera en 1972 sous les balles d'une femme jalouse...
