Ce nouveau volume de la série Bootleg primée raconte l'histoire de l'émergence et de la maturation de Dylan en tant qu'auteur-compositeur et interprète, du Minnesota à la bohème de Greenwich Village au début des années 1960. Il inclut des prises rares de Columbia Records, des enregistrements effectués lors de concerts en club, dans de petites réunions informelles, dans des appartements d'amis, et lors de jam sessions dans des lieux de rencontre de musiciens aujourd'hui disparus. L'édition 2CD comprend 42 titres, dont 18 sont entièrement non publiés ainsi que 9 morceaux très rares.
