"Breaking the shell" est un nouvel album inédit du trio formé par le batteur Andrew Cyrille, le guitariste Bill Frisell et l'organiste Kit Downes. Ce nouvel album très attendu présente une combinaison unique et rarement entendue d'instruments - guitare électrique, orgue à tuyaux et batterie. Le résultat est une méditation sur la sonorité et l'occasion pour trois esprits hautement créatifs d'évoluer librement dans une dimension entièrement nouvelle.
